Christian Title grew up in Los Angelos and studied commercial art at the Los Angeles Art Center College of Design. In an attempt to expand his artistic horizons, Christian enrolled in the Academie des Beaux -Arts in Paris in 1952. While living in Europe, Title studied old masters and impressionist painters, and painted en plein air. He eventually merited a one-man show at the Rene Drouet Gallery. Title continued to study and perfect his skills in France, eventually earning a doctorate from the Sorbonne University in 1955.
Although he completed the majority of his education and training in Europe, Title eventually returned to the United States and solidified aspects of his work, like the vibrancy of his palette, for example, alongside his contemporaries.
