Quispe Malca Gilmer

Quispe Malca Gilmer was born in San Miquel de Cajamarca, Peru, the home of his famous uncle, the poet Demetrio Quiroz Malca. He comes from a family of artists, so he came by painting quite naturally. Gilmerýs specialty is the antiquing technique learned in the ateliers of his masters Bartolome Luzanquis, Edilmer Sýnchez and Jorge Arribasplata. His work is Flemish in style--ultra realistic, utilizing dark backgrounds and clear, vibrant colors that make the subject matter appear to ýglow.ý Gilmer now works and lives in Lima. His work has been exhibited extensively and can be found in collections all over the world.
